Project Village

Project Village was a two part project. Part one was to assess whether the new floor area ratio developed by the client could be successfully applied to an existing 3-story building within the client’s real estate portfolio. Part two was to develop renderings in order to convey a possible look and feel to convince key stake holders that the new floor area ratio created a positive working environment. Ultimately, the project was abandoned due to the clients’ unprecedented and accelerated growth, requiring more than their current lease would allow.

My role on the project included intial concept design sketches, material selection and specifications, space plan iterations, 3D modeling using Revit 2014, and direct contact and oversight over rendering consultant deliverables including minor post production done in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.

Project Bay Club

William Duff Architects (rebranded to WDA) was selected to participate in the closed competition for Bay Club’s newest offering, 77 Lounge and Connect. The goal was to create an informal lounge an alternate meeting venue for their San Francisco Tech clients. After two successive competition rounds, WDA was selected as the finalist in the competition.

The initial program called for a full service kitchen, sit down dining, and bar experience. Our submission included an additional, informal seating area, pool tables, and a mezzanine story with rentable break out rooms. The renderings below showcase part of our winning deliverables utilizing Revit 2014 for 3D sculpture and rendering with Photoshop CS5 post production.

Project team included 3 individuals, 1 project manager and 2 production staff. My role on the project included 3D modeling in Revit 2014, rendering the space using the built-in engine utilizing custom textures to convey material design intent, and post production completed using Adobe Photoshop and Indesign.

Project Cabin Fever

The summer of 2013, Barker O’Donahue hosted a private competition with local architectural firms. The site: a remote lake house outside of Chico, CA. The brief: design a space that would become the DNA to a larger project; a place that could transform; a no constraints competition where the company would then select and build on site. I was fortunate to complete this project as part of a a 5 person design team at WDA with the honorable mention award citing the design as “most desirous.”

The sheets below are example of my work in action. Each team member submitted images into the collage over the course of 1 week. I modeled the 3D site plan using Revit 2012 with post production done in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The Mobile Rooms were modeled in SketchUp and post production in Adobe Photoshop. Mobile Room logos were provided by another team member. Lay-up was completed in Adobe Indesign.
